We are pleased to offer you one of our Tuscany wine tours the San Gimignano Wine tour. This tour will take you to visit the the wondrous unique Tuscany Countryside around the medieval town of San Gimignano that lies on an ancient road that goes from Florence to Siena. All the area, part of Chianti region, is known for the beautiful valleys, ancient stone country houses and medieval villages encircled by walls located on a hilltop. You will start The San Gimignano wine tour from Florence or from Tuscany directly at your accommodation where our English speaking driver will reach you with our luxury minivan. We will drive you to reach the wondrous unique countryside around the medieval town of San Gimignano and in particular you will experience its local white wine tasting of “Vernaccia di San Gimignano”. Along the way your driver will share the history of this regions and of the Tuscan wines, its regulations and appellations.

San Gimignano rises on the top of a hill as one of the most impressive medieval hilltowns of all of Italy. You can venture into this picturesque city surrounded by walls through the narrow streets lined with medieval houses and tall, imposing medieval stone towers. Shops overflow with local goods including tasty meats and cheeses and hand-crafted ceramics, the famous saffron cultivated in its area from the medieval age.

The tour will continue visiting our first “Vernaccia di San Gimignano” winery where you will enjoy a guided tour of the cellar during which you will learn about the wine making process and the traditions of this fresh white wine. Following a typical lunch will be served at the winery with Tuscan food along with local wine and olive oil tasting.

In the afternoon you will reach your second well rated winery for a visit of the cellar and wine tasting and you will start deepening the acquaintance with the characteristic of Vernaccia wines, its hilly territory with the opportunity to stop to take memorable pictures of vineyards, olive groves and cypress trees. Here you will visit our second well rated winery for a private wine tour of the cellar and a wine tasting of Venaccia but also some red Chianti Classico, based on red Sangiovese grape and other local grapes so that you will start deepening the knowledge of the characteristic of the important Tuscan wines.

A relaxing drive will follow to reach back your accommodation not before trying some good Gelato!
