A full day six-hour tour, the Michelangelo: His Life and Works in Florence Tour, offers clients the opportunity to focus on the extant works in Florence of this great Renaissance genius.

The tour or walking lecture, allows clients to walk the streets that Michelangelo walked, see the art he studied from as well as trace his life through his numerous works in the city.

The itinerary is available every day of the week but due to various museum closures or restoration campaigns the itinerary may be modified. The itinerary may include visits to the following historical sites:

  • Casa Buonarroti: The home Michelangelo bequeathed to his nephew, now museum. (admission fee)
  • Church of Santa Croce: Tomb monument of Michelangelo. (admission fee)
  • Medici Chapels and the Church of San Lorenzo: Michelangelo's sculpture and architecture for the burial chapel to the Medici and Library of the Cloister. (admission fee)
  • Accademia Gallery: Michelangelo's David and the Slaves. (Admission and reservation fee)
  • Uffizi Gallery: Michelangelo's panel painting of the Doni Tondi. (admission and reservation fee)
  • Bargello Museum: Michelangelo's Bacchus. (admission and reservation fee)

The break for lunch is at a characteristic Tuscan Trattoria or Restaurant (not included in fee). The guide will act as the client's personal assistant explaining local fare and offer suggestions for wines.
